The deadline for “opting-in” to the TKUP Public Inquiry is this Tuesday, 3rd March.
Every single person who submitted an objection (or otherwise) to the Kintore to Tealing 400kV OHL either by using the AI tool or emailing a personal representation or through the ECU portal or a standard letter should have received an invitation to participate in the Public Inquiry process.
Some confusion has arisen between the 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜l𝐈𝐧𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟏𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞-𝐈𝐧𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐏𝐈𝐌) 𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡.
Members of the public do 𝐍𝐎𝐓 attend the PIM which is online. Those representing the parties involved (SSEN, local authorities, consultees and 𝐔𝐒) will outline and agree the scope of the Inquiry at the PIM. Our Project Manager will represent the three aligned groups of 𝐃𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐲𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐲𝐥𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩. Our participation has been submitted as NOTKUP. This meeting will be available live and to stream.
Members of the public who have already made representation and have material, substantive information are very much encouraged to take part in the June Inquiry. There may be an opportunity for personal testimonies to be made during an evening session too. This will be confirmed later.
To allay fears that those participating will be faced with an adversarial, courtroom-like situation … 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐧’𝐭. Representations will mostly be conducted as one-to-one, face-to-face “conversations” with one or both Reporters appointed.
Any cross-examinations will address highly technical topics introduced by expert testimonies.
We have also had queries regarding question 13 on the simple online form:
“𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞-𝐢𝐧𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠?”
We have been advised that this relates to any legal, legislative, regulatory or administrative issues within the Inquiry process. In most cases, we suspect the answer will be “NO”. We have not identified conflicts.
Finally, if you submitted something to the ECU during the public representation period from 25th September 2025 to 27th October 2025 and have 𝐍𝐎𝐓 received a letter from the DPEA please let us know urgently at:
