Kintore–Tealing 400kV Line: Public Inquiry Process Begins
Over 200 people have opted in to speak at the Kintore to Tealing 400kV OHL Public Inquiry in June.
Thank you to those of you who support us and have expressed an intention to speak.
The Pre-Inquiry Meeting (PIM) will take place online on Friday 20 March.
Two hundred people is a phenomenal number, but it does mean that not everyone who has opted in will be able to participate in the PIM purely from a logistics point of view. If you have not received an invitation from the DPEA to take part, please do not worry, you will be well represented.
As you know, the three aligned groups — DAP, APAG and STIG — have engaged John Campbell as our Project Manager. He will speak for us at the PIM, and a small team from the three groups will travel to be with him on the day so he can confer with them on what is best for us at the Public Inquiry.
There will be no discussion or debate on the merits or impacts of the project at the PIM. Its purpose is to set out the agenda for the topics to be examined at the Public Inquiry. In particular, it will address which topics should be included (including those we believe need to be scoped back in), who will take part, and general arrangements such as venues, timelines and other procedural matters.
We, the communities bearing the burden of this proposal — are the official opposition. We have a credible standing and have earned our place in this important legal challenge.
Both local authorities, Angus Council and Aberdeenshire Council, will be represented, along with NFUS and a number of Community Councils.
And of course, the applicant, SSEN.
It is an important step in the process, and we will do our utmost to ensure your concerns are properly represented.
